Grade 10: Lecture about How to Communicate with Admission Officers
In the afternoon of September 26, 2019, the tenth graders attended a lecture, hosted in the XMT Annex, titled “How to Communicate with Admission Officers” . The college advisors presented an in-depth explanation on how best to attend university fairs, how to discover and utilize valuable information and recourses during the fairs, how to have a conversation and present oneself to the admission officers, and more useful tips and suggestions. The advisors explained all of these features in order to point a clear path for those who are still confused after moving into their sophomore year.
The advisors specified that in order for the admission officers to have a lasting impression of the students after they have left, the students must wear formal clothing and have a polite but outstanding way of speaking. It was explained that, while communicating with the school officials, its best to avoid asking questions about their university’s physical locations, most notable major and courses, class schedules, and other information easy to obtain via the internet. Instead, students should ask questions that contain depth and subjective views and opinions in order to start off a conversation that can increase the connection between the admission officers and the student.
After attending this lecture, students got a better idea on how to attend university fairs and obtain information regarding the university. It undoubtedly saved the students countless sleepless nights searching for the best course of actions. We hope that they'll utilize the CIAFLO platform provided by the school to prepare for their university applications in the best manner.
