Middle School Art Festival
Middle School Art Festival
This year’s 7-8th Grade Art Festival took place on Monday, Dec. 21st. It took on a more festive tone, with three Santa appearances, gifts given to students from both grades, and an increase in Christmas-themed performances. The lights were enhanced to be brighter and more varied. Each light was able to move around and project in multiple colors simultaneously, which allowed for interesting and varied performances.
The performances themselves ranged from band performances, to dances, to a chorus signing, to plays. Santa appeared at times throughout the show to draw a lot. The lucky students were given a fluffy plushie. Santa and his assistants also tossed smaller plushies into the crowd. Later, Mr. Ni picked two classes from each grade to receive chocolates.
Unlike last time, we had better speakers and displays on each side of the stage, which were very helpful in knowing who was in the show onstage. Students from all classes participated in the performances, and students from seventh and eighth grade alike performed together. Near the end, the teachers collectively sang “Country Road”, with Mr. Wright playing a guitar. During the singing, Mr. Ni sang alone for a few seconds, which attracted the attention of many people. After the singing, Mr. Wright sang a song by himself, and then the foreign teachers collectively danced a rather fast-paced dance. The art festival at last concluded with a short address by the hosts and cheers from the audience.
