A Close Contact with Guinness World Record Holder

On Nov 6th, 2014, Jon Pritikin, a Guinness World Record Holder, visited SHSID and gave a special speech to the students. As a world-class athlete, Jon has had to overcome many challenges growing up. He had a severe learning disability, which caused other students who didn’t understand the difficulties he was overcoming to make fun of him. Jon not only overcame his learning and physical challenges, but he now travels all over the world helping today’s young people learn how to overcome their own challenges. Jon is the current Guinness record holder for "the tightest circumference of two aluminum frying pans rolled together with his bare hands in less than 30 seconds." He told his story to the students and showed off his power. All the students and teachers were very moved by his inner strength and presentation.
