Pu Xi G3: Chinese Culture Week
Pu Xi G3: Chinese Culture Week
The 3rd graders experienced traditional Chinese culture during week 7.On Monday, they learned about Chinese paper cutting and made butterflies, flowers, and leaves out of colorful paper.
There are many traditional snacks in China. During Tuesday’s playtime, they ate a few of them while viewing an animation about Chinese food.
On Wednesday, they played traditional Chinese games and had a wonderful time outside.
On Thursdaymorning, all the primary section students watched a traditional Chinese art performance, including dragon and lion dances, a shadow play, and acrobatics. It was the first time most teachers and students had seen this kind of show. The artists also played some games with the students. Some of the students were even asked to come on stage to participate. They were so excited!
For theFridayfinale, our third graders donned colorful national costumes, including the Han, Miao, Bai, and Mongols. They also held an ornate fashion show!
Although one week is not enough time to understand everything about Chinese culture, both the students and teachershad agreat time. We will continue to do activities like this in the future.
