Grade 10: Heal the World
Grade 10: Heal the World
Tenth graders are now undergoing rapid mental growth. During this semester, the sense of social responsibility makes them donate themselves into the social welfare and charities.
To talk about social welfare and charities, the Charity Fair and the Giving Tree Project, traditions of Zhongxing Building, first come to our eyes. The Charity Fair is the biggest charity activity as well as the carnival throughout all the grades in SHSID.
For 9thand 10thgrade, it is held by the ASB and all the teachers and students enjoy it. The students run the stands with great enthusiasm by different clubs. The money raised by Charity Fair is going to be used to the development of migrant children’s school. The Giving Tree is the project that supports the destitute students in West China. The 9thand 10thstudents help the destitute students realize their hopes, which are listed on the package of Giving Tree Project. Now all the gifts have been packed, and they are going to be sent out.
The tenth graders’ charity and public activities are organized not only by school, but also by their own clubs.
For example, during this semester, the members of Loving Care Club spent a lot of weekends on visiting Yongmei Primary School. They taught the students English and usually sent them gifts on holidays. With the care of the 10thgraders, the students became happier in learning English.
Make That Change Club focuses on sick children. The members of MTC went on weekends to look after the children at hospital. They chatted and played games with the children in order to encourage them to have an optimistic life. Although their work could not reduce the pains in children’s body

Sowing love is sowing hope. The 10thgraders are taking their unique actions to heal the world. Let us work together with the youngsters to make the world a better place to live.
